Pikria is a Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in the treatment of eating disorders, and issues associated with body image and compulsive exercise. Her approach is client-centred, empathic, collaborative and strength-based.

Pikria has experience working with both adults and adolescents in private hospital settings. She has previously worked at Northside Eating Disorders Inpatient Unit where she provided individual counselling and group therapy sessions. Pikria has also previously worked at Butterfly – Foundation for Eating Disorders. Her qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Psychology and Graduate Diploma of Psychology from Macquarie University, and a Bachelor of Science with double major in physiology and psychology from The University of Auckland in New Zealand. She has also completed a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the Australian College of Applied Psychology.

Pikria uses an integrated style in her sessions drawing from various evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy and Motivational Enhancement Therapy. She is passionate about professional growth and regularly attends professional development courses to keep up to date with new research.

Pikria is fully registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and is a member of The Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN) – Sydney Eating Disorders Special Interest Group.
